I started building myself in 2007 and started Supreme Build in 2015. We have four permanent employees and up to about four labour only crews to help us out.
The ease of it, the ease of the setup, it was all there, everything we needed. In particular, the presentation of the plans was really good; also, the artist impressions really stand out!
Is the investment going to pay off? I was confident it was, but there's always that in the back of the mind.
Aw, defiantly, one hundred per cent!
Yeah, It's more the general new-build client who is confident and comfortable coming to us now that we've got all those plans ready to go, whereas before, it would perhaps be someone chopping around a lot of builders. We find now people will come to us right away and don't go anywhere else.
Yeah, definitely, and after having priced a few of the different plans that we've got from you, it's really easy to give an initial estimate straight off the bat. Having that draft proposal in the background ready to send through takes half an hour to put one together now. I've got all the numbers in place when comparing plans.
Yup, because everyone makes little changes, we've never had someone who's used the plan one hundred per cent as it is. We always emphasise the fact that you can make changes to the plan. Clients feel they have a say and they can make changes; They're not stuck to a generic plan.
Yeah, definitely! Most of the interaction is just me and the client. We'll sit down for the initial consultation, make the changes they want to change on a bit of scribble paper and then send it off to the draftsman and go back and forth like that, so you got something right off the bat to work.
If it's a custom plan that the architect comes up with, you could have 10 to 15 revisions, whereas, with a Homepacks plan that the client's already decided they like, it could be anywhere as low as two or three and maybe five or six would be our usual sort of revisions.
Yeah, definitely! It would be three or four weeks, it's eliminating that grasp of the main floorplan concept.

Original concept plan/ artist impression:
The clients added a bedroom. They changed the chimney from one side to the other and the cladding in terms of the artist's impression and a couple of joinery changes. They also went for shist instead of the natural cedar and the fibre cement product as opposed to the black cedar. (We're actually entering this home into the 2021 House of the Year).
It's been very well worth it, from both an investment and business pro standpoint!
